I've never done yoga, is this really for me?
Yes, it is for you! In most of our classes you will see all levels of students; from people who have never practiced yoga before to seasoned yoga practitioners. Yoga is for everybody! Always remember, we all were new to yoga at one point! Some new students like to start in our Warm Hatha classes, others start in our Warm 26 or Hot 26 classes, which are great for beginners as well. Read our class descriptions and see what classes peak your interest. Our yoga teachers will help new students by offering modifications, encouragement, and support. You don’t need any experience, just remember to bring your open mind, your promise to listen to your body, and your willingness to focus on your successes. Please feel free to call or come to the studio with any questions!
How do I figure out which type of yoga is for me?
While some people prefer the structure of a Warm 26 or Hot 26 class so they can improve on the same 26 postures, others prefer a more varied experience, like what you’ll find in our Hot Flow, Flow, and Warm Hatha classes. We recommend trying a few classes in each type of yoga that we offer with a few different teachers to really identify what you love. Don’t be surprised when it turns out you love them all!
What are the benefits of a heated room in yoga?
The benefits of practicing yoga in a heated environment are endless, here are few:
What temperature are your warm classes?
Our warm classes are heated to 85 degrees with complete control of the humidity in the yoga room. It feels like a nice summer day!
What temperature are your hot classes?
We take pride in our heating system and our control over the humidity. We promise you will feel the sweat falling off you but will be able to breath with ease in our controlled yoga room. Our Hot Flow classes will rise to 106 degrees and our Hot 26 will rise to 110 degrees, and because of the control of the humidity in the room you will sweat it all out with ease of the breath. It feels like the best sweat you've ever had!
What type of flooring is in the yoga room?
We have special flooring made for yoga. The surface layer provides excellent resistance to dirt build-up and contains a bacteriostat agent to suppress the buildup of bacteria – a healthy added bonus. A reinforced woven inner layer provides excellent shock-resistance, superior stability, and ease to the joints. You can feel the difference as soon as you step into the yoga room. This will feel like no other yoga flooring you've experienced!
What if I'm not flexible?
Perfect! Yoga is practiced to strengthen and stretch the body. It attracts all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Yoga is for everybody!
What if I have an injury or illness?
Please make sure with your doctor that it’s okay for you to participate in yoga (in most circumstances it is doctor recommended). Please let your teacher know if you have any injuries, illnesses, or special conditions. Most postures can still be performed with a few modifications your teacher will be happy to show you. Most of all, go at your own pace. You know your body best!
Do you have showers?
Yes, we have a shower in each of our changing rooms.
Where can I keep my belongings?
We have cubbies in the changing rooms. Please feel free to leave your shoes (there are no shoes permitted in the yoga room), cell phones (please remember to set your phone to silent), bags, and any other items you feel comfortable leaving in the cubbies. All you need in the yoga room is your mat, water bottle, and towel (if you prefer one).
